Terrie Benson Murray graduated Summa Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Fredonia with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and History. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School and is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Bar Association of Erie County. Terrie is a lifelong resident of Western New York.
Terrie was formerly with the UAW Legal Services Plan, a prepaid legal benefit program provided by the nation’s major automakers for the union employees. As manager for two of their local offices for over 17 years, she provided legal representation to hundreds of Western New York autoworkers in the areas of estate planning and Estates and Trusts. She also has extensive experience in the areas of guardianships, adoptions and Medicaid planning.
She now serves on the Board of Directors of the Family Justice Center of Buffalo and Erie County where she previously also served as President of the Board. When the Family Justice Center wished to extend its services beyond the City of Buffalo, she chaired a committee of the Orchard Park Presbyterian Church which founded and funded the creation of the first FJC satellite office in 2010. coordinating efforts by local churches and community organizations throughout the town to make it happen. She is also a founding member and officer of P.E.O. Chapter CM (Philanthropic Education Organization), a women’s organization dedicated to supporting women who wish to pursue higher education by providing loans and scholarships.
Terrie lives in Colden, New York with her spouse, Jim, and is an active member of her church, the Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, having served on multiple boards and committees over the years. She is also a member of the Sanctuary Choir and the Wilson Memorial Handbell Choir.
Terrie practices in the areas of Estate Planning, wills, trusts, estate administration and elder law in Of Counsel status.
