A native of Western New York, Andrew grew up in Wyoming County, and later graduated from Hobart College before attending law school in Cleveland, Ohio. He spent the first ten years of his career with a well-respected firm in the Rochester area before relocating to Buffalo. He resides with his family in East Aurora.
Mr. Emborsky has extensive courtroom experience, with a proven track record of success at trial and at the appellate level. He focuses his practice primarily in family law, custody, child support, and matrimonial proceedings. Andrew finds particular satisfaction in his work as a court-appointed Attorney for Children (AFC). His role as AFC has provided him great insight into the needs of children and families in the legal system, particularly in cases involving domestic violence, neglect, and abuse.
Andrew represents clients in the drafting and negotiation of separation and property settlement agreements, and is skilled in the review and analysis of complex financial accounting and business valuations involved in high-net-worth divorces. As part of his family law practice, Mr. Emborsky regularly litigates matters of spousal support and equitable distribution of property, and prepares domestic relations orders to divide pension and retirement assets. He also regularly works with step-parents and foster-parents who are seeking to adopt.
Mr. Emborsky is a past President of the Livingston County Bar Association (Geneseo, New York). He previously served as the President of Chances & Changes, Inc., a non-profit organization providing shelter, services, and assistance to the homeless and victims of domestic violence. He is presently the Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Family Justice center of Erie County, a one-stop resource center for victims of domestic violence and their children. Andrew has additional experience in criminal defense, real estate, and municipal law, having acted as the attorney for a number of Towns and Villages in Western New York.
When he is not in the office, Andrew enjoys cycling, triathlons, and all manner of sporting events. He and his wife hope to hike all 46 Adirondack High Peaks together.
