COHEN & LOMBARDO, P.C., celebrates the firm’s 80th Anniversary this year. As we continue to grow we take pride in the fact that we maintain our representation of the children and grandchildren of many of the firm’s original clients.
KATHERINE BESTINE was one of five delegates from the Bar Association of Erie County who traveled to Poland for the purpose of establishing relations with members of the Bar Association of Buffalo’s sister city, Rzeszow. The delegation, which included Judges and Lawyers from Buffalo, met with Polish officials and conducted a tour of the Rzeszow Courts. While there, Ms. Bestine gave a presentation on the New York legal system to students at the University of Rzeszow Law School. MS. BESTINE also recently received an award from the Erie County Volunteer Lawyers Project at the annual Champions For Justice bash sponsored by VLP and Legal Services for the Elderly. She was honored for the quality of her work in representing the disadvantaged.

MARYANN SACCOMANDO FREEDMAN was a guest lecturer at the Robert H. Jackson Center in Jamestown, New York, where she gave a presentation on Presidents Fillmore and Cleveland and Presidential Ethics. Her presentation was part of a Continuing Legal Education program attended by State and Federal Court Judges as well as attorneys from the Southern Tier.

JAMES NASH has been elected to the Board of Directors of the BISON Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship Fund is a privately subsidized tuition assistance program for low-income children living in the eight county area of Western New York.

The COHEN & LOMBARDO, P.C., charitable actions committee, headed by MICHELLE SCHWACH MIECZNIKOWSKI and ERIN COLE collected over $1,000 in gifts and donations from our attorneys and staff this holiday season to support Haven House and to provide to an adopted family through the Family Help Center.

TERRIE BENSON MURRAY was a featured lecturer at a continuing legal education program for attorneys on Medicaid and Elder Law. She spoke on Planning for Long-Term Care, using Wills, Trusts, Testamentary Substitutes and Health Care Proxies.
