NEWS FROM COHEN & LOMBARDO, P.C. FIRST QUARTER 2014

JONATHAN COX has been elected President of the Board of Directors of Buffalo Arts Studio (BAS). The BAS is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide affordable studio space and exhibitions for regional, national and international artists, as well as to enrich the community by means of art classes, mural programs, and public art. BAS also collaborates on educational programs with other organizations, including St. Mary’s School for the Deaf, and a jump start program which helps students up through the high school and college levels.

MICHELLE SCHWACH MIECZNIKOWSKI has been appointed Chair of the Matrimonial and Family Law Committee of the Bar Association of Erie County. This committee’s goals include educating attorneys who practice in the areas of Matrimonial and Family Law on evolving legal issues in this ever-changing area of the law, and providing a forum for exchange of information and ideas between Western New York attorneys who focus their practice on this area of law.

COHEN AND LOMBARDO, P.C., employees engaged in two intensive holiday projects this season. The first was the Haven House Toyland Project, which involved gift gathering and obtaining supplies for Haven House, which is a shelter run by Child and Family Services. The project provided the victims of domestic violence, who are residents of the shelter, with a place to “shop” for appropriate toys and gifts, as well as providing the shelter with much needed supplies.

The second project was working with the Disabled American Veterans group to send care packages to troops overseas. A dress down day raised money for the effort and items were collected to include in the care packages.
